What Our Customers Are Saying
Benefits of Electric Tank Water Heaters
Electric tank water heaters are quick and easy to install for any home when replacing a similar model with the same electric power needs. A. O. Smith strongly recommends that you consult a professional installer for a speedy and proper installation.
Hot water Storage Supply
Tank water heaters store a supply of hot water, making it available when you need it most.
A. O. Smith water heaters are built to last with limited warranties that range from 6 to 10 years to help ensure that your home has hot water for years to come.
How it Works
A. O. Smith electric tank water heaters heat water using one or two electric heating elements. When a hot water tap is opened, water pressure from the street pushes cold water into the system through a dip tube that delivers it toward the bottom of the tank. This pushes hot water from the top of the tank out to the hot water pipes for distribution of hot water throughout the home. Temperature sensors inside the tank signal the thermostat when to turn on the heating elements to add heat to the stored hot water. Each electric tank water heater includes a thermostat, a temperature and pressure relief valve, and a drain valve. All of these components are needed to monitor the hot water and ensure efficient, reliable, and safe operation. The thermostat cycles the heating elements to regulate the water temperature to the specified temperature set on the control.
Still Have Questions?
Electric tank water heaters are energy-efficient solutions for your home’s water heating needs. A. O. Smith’s electric tank water heaters have a UEF rating between .89 and 3.45, helping you save energy in your home. Although the recovery rate of electric water heaters is slower compared to gas water heaters, electric models can be less expensive to purchase and installation costs are generally lower.
