Go for the Green Promotion
A. O. Smith Water Products has sponsored PGA Rookie Tommy Gainey for two consecutive years. As a part of the 2009 sponsorship, A. O. Smith developed a “Go For The Green” sweepstakes to increase brand awareness and visibility of Tommy Gainey.
A. O. Smith partnered with Ventura Associates, a promotion agency with a specialty in prize promotions, to create an online sweepstakes that was open to anyone or company associated with A. O. Smith. This niche audience of plumbing contractors, specifying engineers, wholesalers and service agents, was contacted via e-mail blasts and encouraged to visit the micro Web site to enter for a chance to win the grand prize.
Two lucky grand prize winners and guest would each receive Yacht Club accommodations at The Dye Club at Barefoot Resort in North Myrtle Beach, S.C., transportation, a practice round of golf at The Dye Course for Sunday and VIP tickets to the House of Blues Hootie and the Blowfish and Friends concert.
Grand prize winners, Tim McMahon of Delaware and Phil Oelke of Nebraska, enjoyed an all-expense paid trip to North Myrtle Beach, S.C., to play in the 15th Annual Monday After the Masters Celebrity Pro-Am Hosted by Hootie & the Blowfish and with PGA Rookie Tommy Gainey.
